Often I get asked how I ended up an author after a career as a registered nurse. Good question. Wish I knew the answer! All I can tell you is that after serving in the Air Force as a registered nurse, I decided to switch careers and now I write a humorous mystery series for Avon Books. Guys, I gotta tell you, I really believe that we all need a great entertaining read and humor always helps. Thus the Pauline Sokol Mystery Series, in which a burned out nurse becomes a medical insurance fraud investigator, was born. It’s a perfect medium for my quick wit and amusing, believable characters. The first book of the series, ADOSE OF MURDER, made the best-selling suspense/thriller list on Amazon(Alongside the likes of Stephen King!) and placed in the Reviewers International Organizations award of excellent for debut novel. Yippee! Great start! Pauline is named after my grandmother, who was a real kick-ass lady! Grandma died on her birthday at the age of 93 and A Dose of Murder came out on her birthday many years later!
